A Metallic Silk Effect

Liberty Epoque is a washable decorative finish for interiors containing mineral pigments and fine-grained quartz sand. These elements give the surfaces an outstanding elegance. Depending on the angle of refraction of light, Liberty Epoque evokes the brightness and softness of silk.

This breathable acrylic coating recalls the aesthetic sense of the Belle Epoque. A variety of different effects can be achieved with this versatile product.

COLORS

Liberty Epoque is available in Golden and Silver which can be tinted in any color. The Silver version has a natural white color and can be tinted in any color with our Color System. If mixed with black. It gives different gray-silver shades up to slate black. The Gold version, which is naturally yellow, can be tinted in many different colors creating striking, emotional effects, like greens (mixing it with blue) or oranges ( mixing it with red) with golden inner reflections.

SALUBRIOUS

Thanks to the special acrylic emulsions, Liberty EPOQUE is resistant to fungi and bacteria. Because of its very low content of volatile organic compounds (VOC < 17 g/l), Liberty Epoque is an exceptionally salubrious product.

Characteristics

Liberty Epoque is a decorative wall finish, made of special acrylic emulsions, highly resistant to fungi and bacteria. Liberty Epoque becomes completely washable two weeks after the application. The VOC index is inferior to 17g/l, and is therefore an ecological product. It can be applied in cycles of Universal primer and Breathable Paint.

Tinting

Liberty Epoque Silver, Liberty Epoque Red and Liberty Epoque Gold can be dyed in different shades with the tinting machine, as per the Stucco Italiano colour chart.

Application

Apply Liberty Epoque on a smooth, dust-free surface. Surface imperfections can be smoothed out with Liscio, a levelling stucco for walls. After the application of Liscio, apply a coat of Universal primer, properly diluted with water in a 1:5 to a 1:10 ratio, depending on the absorption degree of the substrate. Leave the surface to dry for at least 4 hours and then apply two coats of Breathable Paint at 4-5 hour intervals.

Alternative applications

Three different finishes can be obtained with this product:

1. Brocade (Silver and Gold) – by trowel
   Spread a 0.5-1 mm thick layer of Liberty Epoque with the trowel, and let it dry for about 6-8 hours. Apply the second coat of Liberty Epoque in greater thickness than that of the first coat. Complete approximately 1 square meter at a time, and pass over the surface with a small metal trowel, applied “flat” against the wall, in circular and irregular strokes, applying more pressure with the front part of the blade. Follow the same procedure until covering the entire surface. This specific effect reminds the fantasy to the precious fabric, the brocade. Note the special gold reflection coming when the material is tinted in colours different from yellow like in this picture.

2. Satin lamé (Silver and Gold) – by trowel
   You can easily get this effect applying two coats with the metallic trowel on a previously tinted and smooth wall.The effect is similar to the Venetian Plaster with metallic pearl reflections

3. Sea-sponge – by brush.
   On a previously colored wall, a coat of diluted Liberty Epoque is applied with a natural sea sponge.
