NAPPA

Nappa (Nap) is a decorative, water-based, washable paint, for interiors that has a matte finish.
Its main features are its soft-to-the-touch look and chiaroscuro effect that reminds to the chamois.
It has a good versatility which affords different aesthetic effects.
It can be applied to any building surface provided it has been finished with a smooth substrate.

Effects and application instructions

Many are the effects you can get from this products, it depends on your fantasy and artistic aptitude. These are the three more common

• Traditional effect:
  Prepare the substrate with Primer 4 by applying it with a brush or roller. Use a parallel light to the wall during the application to be sure there are no marks left from the application tool (brush strokes or “orange peel effect” from a roller).
Spread the undiluted product by brush or by using a spalter, with short brush strokes, starting from one point, and going out from there in all directions. After applying it on a surface of approximately 1 square meter, go over it again with a dry brush, brushing in all directions so that the soft effect becomes more pronounced. After about 5 to 6 hours at 20 ° C, you can apply the second coat in the same mode.The material can be diluted up to a maximum of 10%.
The soft effect can be accentuated by lightly sanding the completely dry surface with P400 paper.

An interesting variant is to apply the second coat in a different tone/tint, usually a lighter one
• Jeans effect:
  Apply the material with a short-napped roller being careful to apply it abundantly and uniformly. After covering about a square meter, using a brush with slightly stiff bristles, brush over it vertically. Let it dry for 5 or 6 hours and repeat the operation, but this time brush horizontally.
• Gabardine effect:
  Apply the non-diluted material with a short-napped roller being careful to apply it abundantly and uniformly. After covering about 1 square meter, using a slightly stiff brush, brush over it in one direction only ( to flatten the material down), so either vertically or horizontally. Let it dry for 5 or 6 hours then reapply material which has been diluted 10% and tinted a different color, usually a lighter tint using a roller ( or a brush). Then brush it in the same direction as before. Once the material has been applied over about a square meter, brush the surface again with small strokes going back and forth almost breaking the film that is forming on the paint’s surface.
